CHACs (Community Health Advisory Councils)

Six Community Health Advisory Councils operate within the Winnipeg health region. The Councils are comprised of community and board members from health organizations and are advisory to the Board of Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). The Councils provide an on-going opportunity for community members to share their thoughts and suggestions regarding issues that impact the health of Winnipeg communities.

Recent CHAC reports include: " Building a Primary Care System: Community Perspectives on Primary Care Home & Network” (Jan 2011) and “Public Expectations of the Health Care System (May 2010).

CHAC Council Reports

West Central Health Assessment Project

Initiated by four community partners, the project was designed to identify the health priorities of the West Central Community of Winnipeg and to provide information that could assist funding agencies and service providers in developing programs and services.
