David Phillips completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of Toronto in Mechatronics Engineering. He then obtained a Master of Science in Space Studies from the International Space University in Strasbourg, France. These two degrees enabled him to work as a Robotics Instructor at the Canadian Space Agency in Montreal, QC, where he taught astronauts and mission controllers how to operate the Canadarm2 and Dextre.
Eventually, David answered his call to medicine, completing his undergraduate medical training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. His interest in robotics and telemedicine led him to discover neurosurgery. David continues to have a side-interest in aerospace medicine.
