Geriatric Psychology Services

Service Description

Specialized services for older adults are available for cognitive and memory assessment, depression, anxiety, grief, caregiver stress, adjustment to medical conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's, cadiovascular illness and other conditions more frequently found in older adults. The Early Cognitive Change Clinic for Older Adults is a specialty clinic for assessment and assistance with age-related, mild cognitive impairment, and is offered at the St. Boniface Hospital. Consultations regarding difficulties with sleep or pain are also available. Those services are available on an outpatient basis. Personal Care Home consultations are also provided. Elderly patients can also be referred to regular adult services for anxiety, depression, sleep and other psychological services as described elsewhere on this site.

Referrals are generally processed within 4 to 8 weeks (patients will be notified of longer wait intervals should they occur).
