Mission

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is an experiential education program
designed to develop a self-directed practitioner with advanced skills in the practice of pharmaceutical care.

Learning Philosophy

Our residency program emphasizes learning by doing (experiential learning) and self-directed learning rather than lectures or exams. WRHA residents use experiential learning to master the knowledge, skills and attitudes outlined by the program’s learning objectives. The residency program is structured but allows flexibility to meet a resident’s personal learning needs. We focus on developing personal and professional practice management skills – refining time management skills, managing self- and preceptors’ expectations, and setting realistic goals that acknowledge the importance of work-study-life balance.
