Pharmacists
General Qualifications
Candidates for employment as a pharmacist in WRHA Pharmacies are required to have the following General Qualifications:
- Graduate of a School of Pharmacy accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) or the American Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
- Met the Qualifying Examination (Part I & II) requirements of the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC)
- Licensed to practice pharmacy (Patient Care Setting) in the Province of Manitoba, or have met all requirements except for Internship Requirements, since it may be possible to accommodate internship training on a case-by-case basis during the initial period of employment in a WRHA Pharmacy
- Demonstrated poise and aptitude for communicating professional information and the ability to deal appropriately with matters of an urgent nature
- Preference for candidates with demonstrated teaching, precepting, and mentoring skills
Special Note for Students in their Final Year of Study at a CCAPP- or ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy:
General applications from students in their final year of Pharmacy studies may be considered, conditional upon providing evidence of successful completion of a pharmacy degree, Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Qualifying Examinations, and requirements for licensure as a pharmacist (Patient Care Setting) in Manitoba at the earliest opportunity. Internship requirements for licensure need not be met at application for employment, since it may be possible to accommodate internship training on a case-by-case basis during the initial period of employment in a WRHA Pharmacy.
Special Note for International Pharmacy Graduates:
General applications from international pharmacy graduates may be considered, conditional upon notice of qualification for licensure as a pharmacist (Patient Care Setting) in Manitoba. Internship requirements for licensure need not be met at application for employment, since it may be possible to accommodate internship training on a case-by-case basis during the initial period of employment in a WRHA Pharmacy.

Please follow the directions in the posting for applying for these positions:
1. Your Pharmacy Licensure Status, including:
- The names of all pharmacy regulatory authorities with whom you hold a license, the license category or restrictions (e.g., Non-practicing; Patient Care Setting, etc), and license number
2. Pharmacy and other related work experience.
3. The type of pharmacist employment you are seeking, including practice location or patient care area preferences, if applicable.
4. Competition number for which you wish to be considered.
