Victoria General Hospital Pharmacy Services

Pharmacists provide direct patient care utilizing a decentralized clinical/ distributive practice model.  Clinical pharmacy services are provided to patients in the following areas: Medicine, Surgery, Mental Health, and Intensive Care.

Pharmacy technicians aid delivery of pharmaceutical care through support of the computerized (GE Centricity), unit-dose (Pyxis; AutoMed) drug distribution system. Pharmacy technicians also support a limited centralized IV admixture service, including preparation of TPN, investigational drugs services, purchasing and inventory control systems.

The Victoria General Hospital offers a collegial working environment.  A continuous professional development program is offered to all staff. The pharmacy is open days and evenings, seven days per week.
