Deer Lodge Centre Pharmacy Services
Pharmacists provide direct patient care to approximately 600 long-term care residents at Deer Lodge Centre and Misericordia Health Centre through integrated clinical-distributive practice in decentralized and centralized pharmacy locations. Experienced long-term care pharmacists serve as consultants to a variety of patient care teams, including Psychogeriatrics and Geriatric Rehab/Day Hospital.
The pharmacy team also includes pharmacy technicians, who play important roles in the computerized, 32-day blister card dispensing system, as well as purchasing, wardstock, and inventory control systems.
Deer Lodge Centre Pharmacy Services works collaboratively with other members of the Deer Lodge Centre family, “Making Lives Better” for long term care residents and members of the larger community. Pharmacy staff members have a unique opportunity to build pharmaceutical care relationships, not just with residents, but also with their families. Ongoing education and specialization are encouraged. The pharmacy is open Monday to Friday, daytime shifts.
