About the Infection Prevention and Control Program

The Infection Prevention and Control Program is responsible for:

• Implementation of consistent infection prevention and control policies and procedures across the WRHA in all levels of healthcare.
• Implementation of a surveillance program for infections, and analysis and implementation of corrective measures where appropriate.
• Establishment of a network of communication and collaboration regarding infection prevention and control issues throughout all levels of health care in the WRHA.
• Facilitation, implementation and evaluation of infection prevention and control education in conjunction with other WRHA programs.
• Identification and establishment of infection prevention and control research
