Dr. Aziz Mhanni

Dr. Aziz Mhanni primary clinical focus is in inborn errors of metabolism but he is active in all other areas of General Genetics. 

Dr. Mhanni participates actively in both bedside and didactic teaching of Medical students. He is involved in teaching the Medical Genetics residents and fellows as well as other specialty residents.

His research focus has been in epigenetics and how it is related to human disorders.  In collaboration with other scientists at the University of Manitoba and other Universities, he continues to study DNA methylation role in early developmental processes and its relationship to specific birth defects such as conotruncal anomalies of the heart.
