Lisa Levesque, BSc(Hons), MSc

Lisa Levesque has been a genetic counselling assistant in the Program of Genetics and Metabolism at Health Sciences Centre since 2008. She received a Master of Science from the University of Manitoba in 2010 from the department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics. Her thesis was an exploratory study identifying genes involved in the male reproductive pathway of a clade of Drosophila spp. During her time in the lab, she became proficient in many molecular techniques working with both DNA and RNA and also the use of bioinformatics as a research tool. Lisa continues to pursue research projects, collaborating with other members of the department on publications. In her current position, she works supporting Dr. Marles and Dr. Mhanni in General Genetics and also supports the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Clinic.
