Shannon Chin, BSc, MSc, CCGC

Shannon Chin has been a genetic counsellor with the program of Genetics & Metabolism at the Health Sciences Centre since 1998. She received her Master of Science in medical genetics and in 2002 became certified by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors. She has experience working in the field of adult genetics and has a special interest in hereditary cancer and prenatal. In 2005 she was cross-appointed to the University of Manitoba as a Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry & Medical Genetics, Faculty of Medicine  She is actively involved in the teaching and supervision of medical residents, genetic counselling students and other medical trainees.

In October, 2014, Shannon assumed the position of Program Director for the Program of Genetics and Metabolism.
