About the Antenatal Home Care Program

The Antenatal Home Care Program is a community based, safe alternative to hospital care for women experiencing one of the following complications of pregnancy: high blood pressure, preterm labour, premature preterm rupture of membranes (PPROM) or diabetes. Established in 1985 and expanded in November 1991, the program was the first of its kind in Canada and the model from which many other Canadian programs have been developed.
