PHIA Privacy Officers

A Privacy Officer is an employee of a trustee whose responsibilities include dealing with requests from individuals who want to look at, get a copy of or request a correction to their personal health information. The Privacy Officer is also responsible for facilitating the trustee’s compliance with PHIA.

The WRHA has designated a Chief Privacy Officer who is responsible for providing direction and support to the Privacy Officers within the Winnipeg Health Region. In addition, the Chief Privacy Officer also sets policy to ensure compliance with the Act. The WRHA Chief Privacy Officer can be contacted by mail or phone at:
