What is an urgent care centre?

Urgent care centres are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

They provide health-care services for urgent but not life-threatening health concerns that need same-day attention.

What can an urgent care centre help me with?

Any urgent but not life-threatening condition, for example:

What if I come to the urgent care centre with a life-threatening condition?

If you are in need of serious medical attention, you should ALWAYS call 911. While urgent care centres can stabilize patients with life-threatening conditions until they can be transferred to an emergency hospital, calling 911 is always the safest and fastest way to get serious medical attention.

Can I get admitted to hospital through the urgent care centre if needed?

It is possible for you to be admitted to hospital through the urgent care centre if your condition requires it. However, if you believe your condition is serious enough to potentially require hospitalization, you should always call 911 or go to an emergency department.

What if I’m not sure where to go?

Knowing where to go will help you receive the care you need, sooner. If you are unsure about where you should go, you can call Health Links - Info Santé at (204)788-8200 or toll-free 1-888-315-9257. Health Links - Info Santé is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I go to Seven Oaks for my dialysis, and have an issue that can’t wait for me to see my doctor. What do I do?

The Seven Oaks urgent care centre can assist you with urgent but non-life threatening health conditions, including those related to your dialysis treatment. If you feel you are in need of serious medical attention, 911 is always the safest and fastest way to get help.

Please remember that if you are in need of serious medical attention, always call 911.
