The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Community Nutrition Team is pleased
to offer the following nutrition resources to groups, organizations and individuals
that are involved in providing food programs and services to the community:
Livin' it Up!
Livin it Up! is a wellness program for active seniors who are able to perform daily tasks such as cooking, housekeeping, and shopping. The program focuses on healthy eating, physical well-being and social interaction.

Four Weeks of Healthy Menus
Four Weeks of Healthy Menus contains everything you need to plan four weeks
of delicious and nutritious breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Shopping
lists and recipes are included.
Four Weeks of Healthy Menus is recommended for facilities that serve food
to groups of people, such as seniors' congregate meal programs and residential
care facilities for children and adults. The menus contained in the manual
are based on Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.

Kids in the Kitchen
The Kids in the Kitchen manual offers instruction on how to start and run
a cooking club for children ages 6-11. The manual includes planning steps,
guidelines for food and kitchen safety, and sample forms and letters. It also
contains 21 lesson plans with recipes and nutrition activities for groups
of up to 12 children.

Winnipeg Cooks Together. . . A Handbook for Community Kitchens
A community kitchen, sometimes called a cooking club or collective kitchen,
is a group of people who meet regularly to cook food and take it home to
feed their families. The "Winnipeg Cooks Together…" handbook
offers advice and instruction on how to organize and operate a community
kitchen in your neighbourhood.
The handbook also includes information on nutrition, shopping tips, food
safety, favourite recipes, and much more.
