The Misericordia Health Centre’s Angel Squad is out in full feather on the Maryland “Bridge of Angels” this week, raising money for residents’ artistic programs, including artists at the bedside and iPod music therapy.

The 17th annual Angel Squad is collecting donations from drivers until Thursday, Dec. 6, in exchange for a Starbucks beverage, baked treat and a copy of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Angels will also be collecting donations Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 201 Portage Ave. and Winnipeg Square Starbucks’ locations.

There’s also a call-in donation line at 204-22-ANGEL, or you can donate online at www.misericordiafoundation.com.

Misericordia recently created a residents’ choir, in which the average age of the songsters is over 85! Funds raised by the Angel Squad will go to keeping their conductor, having professional musicians visit, along with iPods for a new music therapy program, a holiday choral group, and an “artist at the bedside” program.
