Dr. Terry Klassen, Director of Research for the Manitoba Institute of Child Health, has been recognized as one of Canada's top researchers by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Klassen, a pediatrician, was one of six recipients of the 2011 CIHR-CMAJ: Top Achievements in Health Research Awards. The awards are given to researchers "whose achievements changed the course of health-care delivery in their field of work," according to a press release issued by CIHR and CMAJ.
The Winnipeg pediatrician and his colleagues were singled out for "improving health outcomes of acutely ill and injured children visiting pediatric emergency departments," according to the press release.
