Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist/BMT

The Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB), the Oncology Program, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), and, the Department of Pediatrics & Child Health, Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba (U of M), are seeking applications for a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT position. This will be a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (dependent on qualifications).

Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology Oncology; or eligibility for certification from the Royal College is preferred. Additional training in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is required. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality in-patient and out-patient care to patients undergoing hematopoeitic stem cell transplanation as well as children with malignant and hematologic disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team at the Children’s Hospital, Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba. There will be opportunities for collaboration with basic and clinical researchers at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba and the Research Institute in Oncology and Hematology, a joint institute of CancerCare Manitoba and the University of Manitoba.

The Program presently consists of seven faculty members with active clinical and research programs in pediatric oncology, bone marrow transplant, hematology, hemostasis and thrombosis. It is the sole Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program, seeing patients from across the Province.
