Pediatric Radiologist

The Department of Radiology of the University of Manitoba and the Diagnostic Imaging Program of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks a full time fellowship trained Pediatric Radiologist with expertise in pediatric cardiac MRI imaging (projected start date of September 2017).

The successful applicant will have experience in Pediatric Radiology and or be Fellowship trained in Pediatric Radiology, have expertise and or be fellowship trained in Pediatric cardiac MRI Imaging. Alternatively, the incumbent Pediatric Radiologist will be willing to undertake further training in pediatric cardiac imaging. 

Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba and hold Royal College certification in Diagnostic Radiology or equivalent.

The Section of Pediatric Radiology, located at the Children’s Hospital of the Health Sciences Centre is responsible for all body, musculoskeletal, thoracic, and neuro imaging in pediatric patients. The Section conducts 39,000 exams per year, (26,000 plain film exams, 7200 ultrasound, 3000 MRI, 1600 CT, 1700 fluoroscopy). On site there are 3 radiography rooms, 1 fluoroscopy suite, 5 ultrasound machines, 1 CT scanner and access to 3 MRI’s (1.5 T , 3T and an intraoperative 3T MRI). Pediatric Radiology will relocate to a new state of the art facility in the summer of 2017.

The Section of Pediatric Radiology is comprised of seven pediatric Radiologists (3 full time and 4 part-time). On-call duties are shared equally by 6 radiologists. There is close cooperation with our clinical colleagues with many scheduled clinical-imaging rounds. The section prides itself with excellence in teaching radiology residents, pediatric residents and medical students. Participation in research is encouraged. The section endeavors to develop teaching modules for radiology residents, pediatric residents, medical students and technologists.

Compensation for this position is in accordance with the Doctors Manitoba agreement for 2017 at $456.474.00.
