The 2011-12 Community Development and Public Engagement Inventory and Guide has been updated by Colleen Schneider, Manager of Community Health Advisory Councils. This seventh edition is intended to support the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority staff and programs, program advisory councils and others. As regional public participation strategies evolve, it is hoped that this tool will be useful in informing others about the broad range and extent of partnerships and the level of engagement currently in place throughout the Winnipeg Health Region. The Inventory and Guide provides ideas and contact information, which can enable on-going development of partnerships and collaborative efforts.
The inventory and guide was undertaken by the Regional Director of Primary Health Care.
Each of the WRHA Community Area and Program Teams has contributed to the content of this document. The Directors of the Aboriginal Services, Aboriginal Human Resources Initiative, and Disaster Management have also contributed from a regional perspective.
Community development and public participation are very complex especially when considering the size and diversity of the Winnipeg Health Region and further, the numerous communities (both geographic and stakeholder based) within the region. Any feedback/comments you may have can be directed to:
