Consulting the strategic plan in day to day operation

Moving forward, this strategic plan will be an integral operational tool for the Region. For example, Accreditation Canada requires the Winnipeg Health Region to have an operating plan in place. For the first time in the Region’s history, between 60 programs and sites in the Region will be preparing an operating plan using a standardized approach and a regional format. Moreover, along with recognizing issues or challenges they face in meeting the needs of the people we serve, the operating plan will include five to seven concrete improvement actions to pursue over the next 12 months that link back with the Region’s strategic plan.

Like a renovation, the blueprints the Region is using over the next five years with the strategic plan represent a simplified, centralized and standardized approach to operations. Ultimately, the community will benefit from this unified approach to health care services, supports and delivery.
